2008.01 - Gig in Brooklyn Wednesday

I'm playing at on Wednesday the 9th with Cosmo D and friends. It's at the Donna De Vine Wine Bar at 378 Atlantic Atlantic Ave. think we're on near enough to 9pm sharp so don't be too late. If i'm not mistaken we are the only thing on that night so we should play a nice long set.

2007.12 - Got a few gigs coming up in January!

Heads up Guys! I'll be playing in the new year with Cosmo D and friends. It should be a good long set so I'm sure we will all solo a bit too. I'll post the dates as soon as they are confirmed. P.S. I've got a new Podcast on the way so that should be up in January too! If there are any Wordpress Heads out there who'd like to help me get the whole thing set up then please send me a mail. Happy Holidays!

2007.04 - Ok, so i'm blogging, sort of...

I decided to try out tumblr which is a site designed for people that want to post short, not so text heavy, content on the net. so i created a tumblelog. i added the link to my nav bar above but here it is again. Ben's Tumblr Blog-Like-Thing. So there it is, i hope it's not too boring or self indulgent but i'm enjoying it so maybe you might too. in any case, i can update it from anywhere, add posts from my phone, etc, so hopefully it will be a little more living then this site can be sometimes. i'm still posting news, music, and serious stuff here, but if for some odd reason you want so see some more of my day to day behavior like my daily dose of octopus photos from flickr or what tv comedy i'm watching then have a look there.

2007.02 - February Gig @ Share

I'll be performing with Cosmo D at Share this month. it should be fun. we had a great time at warper last month and hopefully there won't be any technical problems and we can play a bit longer this time. Hope to see you there. we are on at 9pm sharp. for directions and details check Share.

2006.11 - The New Website Arrives

Hello all, so it was about time for a new site and so i thought i'd moved to a new super minimal design that (hopefully) will make it easier for me to update on a regular basis. So i hope you like it. Grab your big red pens and start circling mistakes! I've put some songs up already, and once I finish formatting some of the photos and video i've got laying around I'll get that posted up here too.

2006.06 - Thanks to Bill Zurat & WFMU

So Mr Bill Zurat over at WFMU played my track DIN on his excellent radio show recently. Thanks Bill. Any radio listeners out there should tune into Bill as both his show and the others at WFMU are great.

2006.05 - GrimFM is out on CD now

GrimFM is out and available all over the place. if you're looking for a good online record shop you won't get much better then boomkat.

2004.11 - A Great review of the WERKONE EP

"Werk are a strange bunch. What we have here are 6 cuts from various members of Werk world. Cut Out provide Squedge: deep sub-bass, broken rhythms and noises from the other side, this is seriously twisted and doesn't resort to pointless jazz style noodlings to impress - the emperor does indeed have new clothes. Mr. Lizard's The Thin Line Between Love and Assault would give the British Murder Boys and Reeko a run for their money in threatening sounds from the mental wards for the persecuted, dark glitched up bliss from left of field. The drum programming is pretty darn funky and acts as an excellent counterpoint to the rich textures and layers. Format.K gives us one of the best twisted comedown songs yet with Music To Die To. Like a sick but sweeter version of The Streets without the pointless mockney lovelorn chatter. I get the impression that the automated voice on this track doesn't want you survive. Actress provide us with Mentor, a track that threatens to have us all "Shitting bass until lent" - never really gets going for me but it has an early Warp/Rave vibe going that certainly won't do it any harm. Draw Step by Byte Stripes sounds like it's actually made out of three existing tracks, but it works - D and B vs Walter Carlos vs Squarepusher - it unfolds very nicely, definitely a pick. Last but not least, Ben Codec with Acid Burnt My Retinas, squeaky wheel phrases, big space washes and the chatter of machines hating each other. I could have done with another 20 minutes of this one - excellent stuff, constantly changing under drums that mark the passing of time, all over too darn quick. Excellent opening sampler of things to come. Soon we will all be Werk!" Reviewed By Clone 23 (11/08/2004)
